Thank you! FINALLY a dirt honest review of the AI . And believe me your problems are relatable to many pre 2020 builds too. I bought mine new in 2018 and it spent part of every other month of the first year in the service department. The problem is there are very few people who have EXTENSIVE training & experience with the electrical systems . It’s been reliable since that first year -now owned mine for 6 + years -but am considering scaling down to a lower maintenance trailer . I can roll my own shades up and I’ll take a typical AM/FM radio system please:) I hope you use the lemon law. RV industry customer service will not change until we stop letting them off the hook.

Who would want to buy an RV after all the videos showing how poorly built they are!

Even at the one year mark, after tons of negative experiences with this van, you remain almost neutral. You are better people than I am. Airstream should have bought the van back from you. We, too, love our Airstream Classic. We highly recommend the pre-pandemic models.

You might want to consider a 5th wheel with a mid bunk room. Some have a sofabed w/ a bunk above. You could remove the sofabed & put your crib in there and put a railing or guard so Dash doesn't fall out.

I would rather have a Cedar Creek than a Grand Design. Cedar Creek has been around a long time and has a good reputation or it did when we purchased our cedar Creek silverback in 2012.

@Wanderlocal I am still a subscriber. This was indeed what I was hoping for. My only reaction is that I'm surprised that, given the level of positive coverage that you provided for them (if for no other reason), that they'd do more for you than simply keep the van for long periods of time fixing warranty issues. I guess my question that remains unanswered is... "Would you ever buy another Airstream if your family wasn't outgrowing it?" I think that I'd be reticent. Pasted from the Community Thread section.

That cedar creek is not a fifth wheel. That is called a destination trailer. I was really bummed when I found that out years ago. It’s a pull behind and it’s too long and tall to take down the road

Thanks for sharing the video. I feel your pain. Just got my 2024 Interstate 19 E1 out of the shop after seven months. I’m not an expert, but they replaced inverter, busters, etc. It seems to work now, but everyone of these will have to get the refit that we both got. I wouldn’t buy one until these issues are corrected and hope you are problem free now.

The Cedar Creek Cottage model that you viewed isnt a 5th wheel, it is a trailer and it is a Park Model, meant to be stationary and not moved often.

Dash could not be any cuter! I think he would love the 5th wheel with the 2 beds to share with a sibling!! I love the space 5th wheels can give you with little people! A dishwasher for Momma would be a sweet bonus! 😊

Also having an awning issue might sound trivial but the alarm goes off while driving if you hit a bump and even if you don’t. Then someone has to unbuckle get out of their seat to override which is very unsafe and this will happen after each stop. Very unsafe. And this has been since we left the lot at purchase. They were closing. We thought we must be doing something wrong. But nope. That’s the quality of the airstream. And the multiple fixes. I asked for a new asking nope. They will keep fixing. We were charged over 1k for the prep of the van at purchase. When I questioned, they explained they make sure everting is working etc. They obviously did NOT. So if you ever are crazy enough to buy an Airstream make sure you test drive before you sign. Who would have thought it would alarm out and they must have known. Sorry but have yo vent Airstream is not listening or giving. Poor poor quality.

I bought my Interstate Airstream in 7/2023 from Airstream Tampa. nothing but trouble. A real lemon 🍋. #1 Awning detachment non stop. 6 month fix… because they forgot about me while I was waiting patiently and believing they would get back to me. Still issue going next week again for fix. #2 inverter crashes at 5 k miles. Hardly ever used. After the ‘fix’ won’t work during the day and won’t work if you turn the stove on etc. And this is after the ‘fix’. Not! #3 draws keep popping out while driving. #4 ac is now acting up. Only 7k miles. Two trips. #5. Planned to purchase the 2023, long story short it was a 2024 when asked what was different? They lied and said nothing changed. The changes were the awning that had never worked and this version only seats 5 not seven as they advertise. And who knows what…The contract said 2023 but it was a 2024 which they reluctantly fixed. Airstream Tampa has failed me. If anyone has experience in Lemon Law please let me know. I had high hopes and this was a 20 year disappointing dream and a retirement gift to myself. Very sad, disappointed, wished I never bought.

OMG how you both can laugh when you still have a lemon. I can’t believe with you having this channel that airstream has not replaced the lemon.

I can see where this is going….they know they made a mistake after the first week and apply blame on the van is their out….
